Shape color and lighting to create a stylized look for your story, maintain continuity across shots, or even change the time of day during which the story takes place. Make everything look better than real.
Make your projects better than real with Autodesk® Lustre® 2007 software, the premier creative color grading toolset specifically designed to take on the short-form and long-form projects faced by colorists every day.
Autodesk® Lustre® 2007 software is the premier GPU-accelerated digital color grading system for Microsoft® Windows®. The Autodesk Lustre family of products includes the new Lustre HD Station.
The Autodesk® Lustre® color grading system is a premier high-performance solution for interactive film or HDTV grading and look creation. It provides high-quality, real-time color grading capabilities for modern data-centric workflows. Designed to combine the best in performance and creative tools with advanced configurability, Autodesk Lustre can be adapted to the most demanding facility workflows.
The Autodesk Lustre 2007 software architecture with GPU acceleration gives you the tools you need to build a look that establishes your unique vision or sells your client’s ideas with maximum impact. Enhance your content with vivid color. Shape the audience experience using complex selections to isolate parts of the shot you need to draw out and highlight. Develop a streamlined facility workflow that lets you work fast—even under pressure.
Compare multiple shots anywhere in your sequence to enjoy continuity of color and lighting across your entire timeline. Jump between shots instantly and see them side by side in different contexts. With a nonlinear workflow and fast, high-quality image pipeline, you have time to do more by experimenting with as many grades and variations as you like.
Autodesk Lustre 2007 takes advantage of the NVIDIA® graphical processing unit (GPU) to accelerate an unprecedented number of SD, HD, or 2K grading function. Offering a very attractive price-to-performance balance, Lustre is designed for creativity and interactivity without the need for proprietary hardware.
Take advantage of the flexibility of the Autodesk Lustre system to build open and scalable collaborative color grading workgroups. Save time with the Autodesk® Wiretap™ advanced API providing access to media stored on Autodesk® Stone® disk arrays. This lets you color grade an Autodesk® Smoke® timeline without the need to convert files or copy media across the network.
Key New Features in Autodesk Lustre 2007 :
* GPU-Accelerated Grading
GPU technology offers high-bandwidth, cost-effective processing power that gives Autodesk Lustre 2007 real-time playback of primary color grading and key selective color grading capabilities for up to four selective layers.
* Real-time Formatting of Video Deliverables
In addition to using the GPU for real-time grading, Autodesk Lustre 2007 also takes advantage of the GPU to perform video format conversion without rendering. Starting from 2K or HD material, you can create different formatted video deliverables that are augmented creatively with the addition of animated repositioning and scaling, animated primary color correction, and even a 3D LUT, all in real time.
* Dual-Head Grading Mode
Swap DVI and SDI outputs to load all color grading controls in a single view and send the user interface preview—including selective wireframe shapes— to the reference monitor via the SDI interface.
* Interlaced Video Rendering
With support for true field-based rendering, grade interlaced video using animated roto shapes, animated repositioning or resizing. Display each field independently without the need to de-interlace. Autodesk Lustre 2007 is ideal for both progressive frame-based footage and interlaced field-based video material.
* Modular Autodesk Control Surface
The elegant and unique Autodesk Control Surface offers the perfect balance between form and function. It is designed to give colorists an intuitive way of quickly accessing the most common color grading functions that are available in Autodesk Lustre.
Built for modularity, the three independent panels are easily positioned to suit the colorist’s preferred way of grading and to allow for left- or right-handed dominant operation. It is available as an optional component to all Autodesk Lustre core solutions.
* Seamless Timeline Interchange
Collaboration is at the heart of any facility workflow, and Autodesk Lustre 2007 is designed with collaboration in mind. The final creative grade is a common step in every post-production workflow, even after a project is finished in Smoke or Flame. Perform the grading in Lustre by accessing the timeline instantly across the network without the need for video tape or EDL re-conform. Once done grading, send the final frames back to the finishing system or play out directly to video tape.
* Infrared Dust-Busting
Specific infrared (IR) scan for dust and hair on the film surface generates data that is embedded in the image file and plays back in real-time. This IR pass removes the guesswork and minimizes the need to manually look for problems. Lustre uses motion compensation technology to automatically remove the unwanted blemish from the scanned film frames.
